Material things...wood

We are starting furniture class again next week so looking for inspiration for our next project.

Came across this husband and wife team Russell Pinch and Oona Bannon who are specialist furniture designers with an amazing store called Pinch.

They have recently completed the interior and furniture design for the new head office of Neal's Yard Remedies.

They also have some fantastic lighting (and hardly surprising a beautiful website - go and check them out!)

We're back

We're back from a little road trip from Kent to Cingoli and back via Luxembourg, Saarbrucken, Strasbourg, Basel, Luzern, Parma, Castel San Angelo, San Severino, Modena and Maranello! Here are our favourites:

1. Favourite new city - Luxembourg. Completely unexpected - great city, perfect mix of old and new.

I bought a little souvenir to remind us of our trip a paper mache scultpure inspired by the Nana given to the city of Luxembourg by French artist Niki de Saint Phalle.

2. Best patisserie - Strasbourg. A tiny little shop full of locals and we had the best coffee and most divine pain au chocolat ever (the chocolate was still liquid inside they were so fresh). Also a great place to go clothes shopping (lucky for our bank account it was Sunday and everything was closed!)

3. Best hotel - Radisson in Lucern. Fabulous room great service, lovely location just near the theatre. They even let Bailey into the restaurant!

4. Most peaceful spot - Switzerland. The scenery on the drive through Switzerland was breath taking.

5. Best of all - Italy of course. Best gelato, best food and friendliest people!
